West Horsley Place
In November 2024 I exhibited After the Tempest at West Horsley Place, the medieval manor house set in the Surrey Hills — a fitting home for a figure drawn from Shakespeare, in a house that has kept its own stories for six hundred years. The piece is Miranda, the heroine of The Tempest, modelled in Parian and standing 63 centimetres tall upon a root of driftwood. I was drawn to Miranda as a figure shaped entirely by her island — raised apart from the world, knowing only sea and shore until the storm brings others to her. It was a......
